King Yin Shou of Shang (played by Fei Xiang) allies himself with the fox demon Daji (played by Naran), ruling with cruelty and tyranny and bringing down Heaven's wrath. The Kunlun immortal Jiang Ziya (played by Huang Bo) descends the mountain with the "Investiture of the Gods" to seek the one destined to unite the realm and save its people. Ji Fa (played by Yu Shi), son of the Lord of the West, gradually sees Yin Shou's true nature and rebels against him, fleeing Zhaoge. Underlying tensions between the various factions begin to surface as the tides of change gather.
