My Mortal Enemy Is Marrying for Peace, So Why Am I the Target?

[The gentle, scheming old fox × the sincere, forthright young wolf]

After being captured in defeat, the young general assumes he’s in for brutal torture, followed by a noble death for his country.

Just as Bie Jinchao finishes composing his last words, he realizes something is amiss.

The notorious enemy commander coaxes him: “Good boy, say something sweet, and I’ll make sure you live.”

Bie Jinchao thinks he’s a liar and stubbornly refuses to say a word.

You Chunxing doesn’t give up. He keeps calling him “little general” and “little wolf cub,” caring for him and protecting him. In the end, even he can’t tell whether he wants to tame Bie Jinchao or keep him by his side.

Then, when the two countries begin negotiations, Bie Jinchao is to be ransomed. You Chunxing panics and blocks the doorway.

“What am I supposed to do if you leave?”

“You have to take me back with you!”

Bie Jinchao: ?

Before he can even react, the man has made himself a “princess bride” and managed to follow him home.

There’s no way to drive him out, and breaking off the engagement is out of the question. He’s landed himself in quite the predicament, putting on a different show every day to demand a proper title.

Bie Jinchao: What can I do? I’ll take responsibility, all right?
