My Inn Connects to All Heavens, and the Hao Tian Goddess Works as a Chef

Gao Xuanqing inherited a run-down inn from his mother.

Aside from the notes and diary she left behind,

all he had was a small, stone-faced cook.

It wasn't until the inn welcomed its first guest

that Gao Xuanqing discovered it was no ordinary inn.

One day,

Li Chengze, the Second Prince of the Qing Kingdom, pushed open the door barefoot,

threw down a gold ingot, and asked to have his fate told.

The greeter here was a eunuch named Gao Yao,

who smiled at everyone every day,

but hated people saying the two words "Zhao Gao" more than anything.

The assistant cook was a mortal named Mo Caihuan,

who liked adding chopped scallions to her dishes

and was always hoping a dark-faced young man surnamed Han would come by to eat.

The bookkeeper wore a monocle

and discussed quantum mechanics with the head chef every day,

while working his abacus louder than the Eastern Emperor Bell.

The night watchman always claimed he had once been the Buddha,

ruler of the thirty-three heavens of the Three Realms...

As the villains defied fate and changed their destinies,

the inn grew more and more luxurious...

When the thick fog in the back courtyard finally cleared,

Gao Xuanqing opened the back door

and found that outside was not a street,

but the gloomy, towering Yin Mountain, the Gate to the Underworld!

At last, he also deciphered his mother's diary.

"Today I beat a weasel to death for stealing chickens,"

which, translated, turned out to mean:

"Today, beneath Mount Buzhou, I slew the demon sage Bai Ze!"
