[Contract Romance] [Second Chance at Love] [The Pursuit of His Wife Is a Road to Ruin]
The stunning on-screen couple who set the foreign internet ablaze can only promote themselves in secret back home.
A contract and a drama starring two male leads force Su Yu and Lu Zhuo, an award-winning actor and his former lover, to appear together again.
Six years ago, Lu Zhuo believed a fake screenshot. He called Su Yu a liar and watched as the whole internet attacked him until his reputation was ruined.
Six years later, they meet again. Lu Zhuo presses him at every turn, hoping to make up for the past by pretending to be a couple.
Su Yu keeps giving way, wanting only to wait out the contract and leave with his money.
They agreed it was all an act, and swore never to repeat their past mistakes.
But as the series nears its end, Lu Zhuo, red-eyed, posts all the evidence online and exposes his own faults, just to clear Su Yu's name.
Then the recording buried for six years plays again, and the whole internet erupts.
Su Yu looks at him, his voice calm. "Lu Zhuo, you didn't believe me back then. How much is your trust worth now?"
At last, the award-winning actor casts aside all his pride and grovels in the dirt.
"Let's make one more bet. This time, I'll stake everything."

The characters are written very realistically, and Su Yu's mentality of wanting to get closer but subconsciously retreating is so poignant! There is no forced sweetness, the two slowly get along with each other and tolerate each other, and the small interactions are very touching!
