The series tells the story of the passionate, tragic romance between Xu Feng, the son of the Heavenly Emperor, and Jin Mi, the daughter of the Flower Goddess. Their love and rivalry take them from the Heavenly Realm to the mortal world and then to the Demon Realm. In the end, during the battle between the heavenly and demonic forces, Jin Mi throws herself between Xu Feng and Run Yu to stop a disaster. Her soul scatters, and she transforms into a tear in Xu Feng's eyes. Xu Feng searches for her in vain and weeps at the thought of Jin Mi. At that moment, Jin Mi is reborn, and she and Xu Feng eventually retreat from the world together in the mortal realm.
