In the winter of 2024, Chen Fan froze to death outside the scrap yard he had built from the ground up.
In his final moments, he saw his ex-wife and childhood friend cuddling up to their new loves as they kicked him out.
When he opened his eyes again, he was back on May 18, 2008.
The Olympics had yet to begin, Lehman Brothers had yet to collapse, scrap steel prices were still high, and the red circle marking the urban village for demolition had yet to reach the wall around his home.
When other people are reborn, they buy houses or cryptocurrency first. He chooses to return to the scrap yard instead, because he knows a gold mine is buried in that pile of junk.
He'll collect scrap steel, collect land, win people's hearts, and make those who looked down on him in his previous life get down on their knees.
Ex-wife, childhood friend, local bullies... You'll pay me back everything you owe, with interest, every last bit of it.
In this life, he'll start with a shabby scrap yard and work his way up to becoming a big shot.
