My roommate was hanged in our dorm in the middle of the night. The killer wasn’t human.
More than ten thousand students were at the school. By morning, only a little over thirty of us were still alive.
I should have died, too. But when the Hanging Ghost bit through my chest, a white heart burrowed inside me.
It beat in my body and spoke inside my mind.
“I can get you all out of here, but without me, you’re nothing.”
From this day on, two things live inside me.
One is a ghostly heart. The other is myself.
