The whole classroom descended into chaos during the blackout.

Xu Jingye took advantage of the darkness to kiss his childhood friend.

When the lights came back on, he calmly returned to his seat. Before he could steady himself, the person beside him cursed furiously:

Later, the more Zhou Yanchuan thought about it, the more suspicious it seemed. He actually settled on someone in their class and rolled up his sleeves, ready to confront him.

Xu Jingye stopped him once, twice, three times.

In the end, he simply couldn't hold him back anymore.

He grabbed the other guy and pulled him back, eyes red as he finally threw caution to the wind.

"Stop looking. I was the one who kissed you."

Zhou Yanchuan froze on the spot.

Xu Jingye stared at him for a few seconds, then leaned in and kissed him a second time.

Then he was shoved away.

Xu Jingye stood there in silence for a long while before saying just one thing:

"I understand. I'm sorry."

From that day on, he tried to be nothing more than an ordinary friend.

He stopped waiting for him, stopped taking his side, and stopped allowing those boundary-crossing intimacies.
