Siheyuan: From the Start, I Hunted and Feasted on Meat, Making Everyone Drool

[Siheyuan Courtyard + Hunting Space + Decisive and Ruthless + Never a Goody-Two-Shoes + Subverting Expectations + Period-Era Procurement]

Qin Ke wakes up one morning after transmigrating to 1961, an orphan in the capital on the verge of freezing and starving to death. At the critical moment, he binds to a Hunting System, goes into the mountains for one night, and comes back with fat rabbits and wild boars. He lands a job in Procurement Section Three at the steel mill, with the special privilege of not having to report to work!

The factory assigns him a home in a siheyuan courtyard. Qin Ke fries rabbit meat in a generous scoop of lard. The irresistible smell makes Bang Geng drool, bringing the entire courtyard’s vermin flocking to his door!

Jia Zhangshi throws a tantrum and demands meat: “A widowed mother and child have it hard. You’re a single man eating such fatty meat? Bring it over right now!”

Yi Zhonghai puts on his moralizing airs: “Young people should respect their elders and care for the young. You can’t undermine the unity of the courtyard!”

Qin Ke opens the door with a cold laugh and produces a registration form: “Want some meat? This is a test sample specially approved by Director Li to check its nutritional value! Eat a bite and lose two months’ wages. Who wants to sign first?”

He takes down Silly Zhu with a judo throw when he tries to grab the meat, then casually tosses Xu Damao a rabbit leg to seal an alliance. In this scheming courtyard, Qin Ke lays down the rules of the “Living King of Hell”: Want to suck my blood? Pay with your life first!
