[Ling Shu Wields the Blade: The Beautiful Seventh Prince, Desired by All]

Seventh Prince Xiao Yanning of the Great Xuan Dynasty, courtesy name Ling Shu. The Emperor's younger brother by the same mother, and the youngest son, cherished above all by the Retired Emperor and Empress Dowager.

Some say: He is stunningly beautiful and wild by nature. He has countless male friends and admirers, yet is never bound by love, nor does he stay for anyone.

But he was different from birth. Born premature and frail, he carried great responsibilities. At seven, he was taken in place of his twin brother by remnants of a destroyed kingdom and brought to Manggu Mountain. For three months in the mountains, he lived among wolves, eating raw flesh and drinking blood. Traumatized, he developed a dissociative disorder (split personality and PTSD). When it flares up, his temperament changes completely and he recognizes no one. Frail and self-destructive, he teeters on the brink of death. The Imperial Medical Bureau saved him with potent medicine, but this forced him to become the heir and left him a broken body sustained by medicinal baths.

At ten, determined to take revenge himself, he petitioned the Emperor, who made an exception and granted him command of the Black Armor Guard, the "Royal Blade." From wiping out the remnants of Teng, to executing border rebels, then purging corrupt officials at court and eliminating powerful aristocratic clans, the number of lives taken by his hand is no fewer than those of any border general. He is decisive and unmatched in bearing.

Thus, some say: That innocent, carefree seven-year-old died long ago on Manggu Mountain. What crawled back down from the mountain was a bloodthirsty, cold-hearted wolf in human skin, living only for revenge.

Others say: He is a refuge for the countless weak and oppressed of the world. He exposes traitors, foils conspiracies, punishes evil, and protects the vulnerable, shouldering half of the Great Xuan Dynasty's peace and stability all by himself.
