In an unspecified year of the Common Era, humans, ghosts, demons, and immortals all lived in the world, mingling among the common folk.
Little did anyone know that a great upheaval was about to strike. The Underworld established an official organization in the human realm, the Night Office, to deal with ghosts. Meanwhile, gifted people from all walks of life founded the Nightwatch Society to protect their communities.
Xie Sili, an utterly ordinary first-year college student, knows no spells and has no understanding of the Dao. Apart from eyes that can see ghosts, there's nothing special about him.
