"Don't go that way." On the first day of Jiayu's psychiatric internship, a patient grabbed her cuff. There was clearly a way back to the ward, but the man refused to take a step forward. She subconsciously wiped the wooden fish-shaped birthmark on her palm, and then looked up to see a layer of fog floating in the corridor.
After that, the strange things mentioned by the patients came to her one after another. Zhou Hang always heard thunder that no one else could hear; the patient holding the radio insisted on sending a message to the people in the noise, saying that someone was trapped and waiting for them to pick him up. Jiayu tried to look for it and actually found a clue. And the birthmark on her palm that had been with her for more than twenty years began to change - the wooden fish struck for the first time, and the shackles wrapped around the person's body were revealed in the mist. She reached out to touch it and realized how tightly those things were locked: someone had clearly said "no" but still moved forward step by step.
What's even colder is that the chains aren't just hanging in the ward. It crossed the courtyard wall and disappeared into the traffic and lights on the street - it turned out that walking out of the door of the hospital may not mean freedom outside. Who is this hospital protecting, and who is it trapping?
Fortunately, the patients who need her care also have their own ways to protect her: the one who listens to thunder identifies danger for her, and the one who holds the radio connects her calls for help. A group of people who no one believed in their words got together to find a way out of the fog.
But the thing in the fog has already heard the sound of wooden fish. It also reserved a place for her - as long as she was willing to take the chain, everyone would be quiet, without even a "no".
Jiayu clenched her palms. She knocked on the wooden fish to let people hear her again, not to mute the sound for the whole world.
