The Ghost Post Office is not an institution of judgment, nor does it settle the debts of one's past life. It does only one thing: hunt. The messengers are not chosen ones, but bait dropped into the hunting grounds. The means of delivery is a letter. On the envelope is the recipient's real name, written in their own handwriting from years ago. The paper is yellowed, and its corners are damp. Tearing open the seal counts as accepting delivery, and within moments, a person is dragged into a midnight hunting ground named after the place written on the letter. On a foggy night, after working overtime, Qi Shuo finds the old letter at the entrance to his residential complex. When he opens it, he has no idea that he has just signed himself up of his own free will. The post office offers no explanations, makes no announcements, and gives no warning about time limits. The only proof players have that they have been sent into a hunting ground is that the asphalt beneath their feet is no longer familiar. When the hunt ends, the messengers are spat back into reality, but their badges remain, along with a layer of fog and the smell of copper rust. The next delivery comes at some unexpected moment in everyday life.
