At 19:17:43 on November 11, 2027, the world lost thirty-eight seconds at the same time.
Power outages, loss of contact, animal mutations, a huge moon rising from the west, and familiar cities turned into hunting grounds overnight.
Jiang Jibai has no system, and he is not a chosen strong man. The only thing he is good at is finding patterns in failures.
When others were just running for their lives, he recorded the time, sounds, and monsters' reactions, and used trial and error to lead nineteen ordinary people out of the office building; and whenever death occurred, gray-black power would actively flow into his body, in exchange for temporary strengthening, but also to erode his memory bit by bit.
As the survivors established a stronghold, awakening, cultivation, and mutations occurred at the same time, and the ruins that had been sleeping deep in the city for six thousand years also began to awaken.
Jiang Jibai gradually discovered that this "revival of spiritual energy" was not a rebirth of the world, but an out-of-control forced activation; the ancient immortal corpse hanging high in the sky and approaching the earth actually had the same soul as his.
When the old immortal realm looks at him again, he must choose between the power and guilt left behind in his previous life: become the continuation of that immortal corpse, or lead a group of ordinary people to rebuild the order of the world in the name of this life.

This is really a great book that I recently discovered! At first I just clicked on it, but ended up following several chapters in one go and couldn't stop.
This book belongs to the theme of the end of the world. The opening chapter is arresting and the pace is relaxed and moderate. It will not blindly fill in the water, and there is no bloody plot to force one's wits.
