In the seventeenth year of the Republic of China, there was a severe summer heat.
Eighteen-year-old Hong Yuan was penniless, carrying an ancient book handed down from his ancestors, and walked into a pawn shop to exchange for food.
The shopkeeper squinted and threw the book on the counter: "The worm eats the rat, and the book is broken."
When Hong Yuan took it back, he would rather starve to death than ruin the things of his ancestors like this.
As soon as he walked out of the pawn shop, there was chaos on the street. Soldiers with guns blocked the street and arrested him. He was pushed to the ground and the ancient book fell into the dust.
A military boot stepped on the back of his hand. The officer picked up the book and flipped through it, his expression suddenly changed.
"Do you know anything about this?"
Hong Yuan spat in his face.
The officer beat him until he blacked out. Before his consciousness dissipated, he heard a sentence.
"This kid is probably the person Commander Sun has been looking for."
In the dungeon, Commander Sun spread the ancient book on the table and flipped through it slowly.
"Mr. Hong, help me find a tomb."
Hong Yuan glanced at the armed guards outside the door and knew that he would not be able to forcefully walk out today.
"What tomb?"
Commander Sun smiled.
Hong Yuan also smiled and was thinking about how to escape.
A local master, an ancient book, and an inevitable death situation.
In the troubled times of the Republic of China, who is in charge of the ups and downs?
