In 2049, "midnight overlap" occurs in many cities: after midnight, a building or a street may briefly connect with spaces from different futures. The connection usually only lasts eleven minutes. Behind the door are bustling cities and ruins after the collapse of civilization. Ordinary people are still struggling for rent and livelihood, while the city defense bureau is guarding the entrances that may get out of control at any time.
Lin Che, a 19-year-old delivery boy, took an order to be delivered to a closed shopping mall in order to raise money for her mother's hospitalization expenses.
