The Classic of Mountains and Seas Has No Name for Me, but I'll Become a God Anyway

She is the most lowly scale demon in all the Mountains and Seas, with no clan and no insignia. A divine official marked her down as "Nameless" with a single stroke, condemning her to be burned in a lamp to ransom the whole city for rain. No one ever asked whether she was willing.

Until she found a drop of living water...

A blood seal washes away with a splash.

The register of death sentences is turned upside down with a rinse.

Even the seal the gods have kept in place for three thousand years is afraid of her.

She leads a band of "Nameless Ones," all stripped of their names, to rescue the children trapped in the lamps, overthrow the divine officials' altar, and fight her way up the Investiture of the Gods.

It turns out the reverse scale on her chest belongs to Yinglong, who was written into the Heavenly Court's records as having "voluntarily accepted guilt." It turns out the gods' merit is all an account paid for with mortal lives, then erased with a stroke of the brush.

"I will not sign away my life willingly."

She will deify the gods herself. She will rewrite the Investiture of the Gods.
