Chasing the Murderer: Deadly Death

Hanjiang City Criminal Investigation Police Ning Changhai's sky fell overnight: his wife Lu Xiaoyan was dragged into a car on the street, his father Ning Xuewen died in a "car accident" that night, and he himself was framed as a suspect in his wife's murder and suspended pending investigation. My father left a note in his cotton-padded jacket: "Case file 0723, the one from the mine 20 years ago. Dad has found the person who signed it. Don't trust anyone in police uniform." An old case of a mining accident that killed eleven people but was reduced to three twenty years ago is a dragnet that spans both black and white, from the frozen corpse stand-in in the funeral home and the torn file visitor book, to the "eyes" in the provincial building. Ning Changhai brought a thermos cup, a list, and a five-year-old daughter who could draw, and went from "investigating cases for the dead" to "finding people for the living" - the ashes identification turned out to be a shocking twist: the one who was burned was not his wife at all.
