He wakes up to find that he has become history's most infamous treacherous minister: Zhao Gao.
Only two years remain until the upheaval at Shaqiu. The First Emperor will die, Fusu will perish, Hu Hai will ascend the throne, and the Great Qin will fall after just two generations. Yet the first crisis he must face is the case of privately using an imperial tally, an offense that could get him killed ahead of schedule.
To survive, and to stop the empire from collapsing, he draws on knowledge from the future to improve farming tools, develop medicines, and overhaul the relay system. He even tries to establish rules for verifying edicts and restraining those in power.
But to change history, he must get close to the First Emperor, influence Hu Hai, interfere in Fusu's fate, and seize all the authority Zhao Gao was meant to wield.
The harder he tries to escape the name of treacherous minister, the more his trail resembles that of the man recorded in the history books.
When the upheaval at Shaqiu comes again, Zhao Gao does not want to be a traitor this time.
But what is he really trying to change: his own ending, or the fate of the entire Great Qin?
