After He Yu transmigrated, a silent figure in gray robes appeared by her side.

He had horns and a hidden tail, and always covered himself from head to toe.

She called him "Rock," made him travel with her, asked whether he was hurt, and came to love him with all her heart.

Only later did she learn that he was Feiheng, the God of Calamity.

Yet this god named Calamity remembered the scented balm she couldn't bear to buy, and would lower his head to mend her sleeves, stitch by careful stitch.

But whenever she said she loved him, he never gave her an answer.

He Yu thought that a god's life was too long, while a mortal's life was too short.

She didn't know why he always lowered his head whenever she talked about "the future."

Along the way, they also met many gods who didn't seem much like gods.

Some were trapped by the people they had failed to save. Some guarded old promises no one remembered. Some plucked the strings of love for the people of the world, yet could not untangle their own hearts.

Beyond the vast sea, other gods ruled through fear and traded sacrifices for protection.

Meanwhile, the fallen, exiled, and gradually forgotten Kunlun gods left behind seeds, blueprints, and fire.

Mortals farmed the land and shared their food with their neighbors. They carved paths through mountains and built bridges, passing their work down through generations.

They took up the flame, not to worship at shrines, but to warm themselves on cold nights.

The gods once bent down to lift humanity up.

In time, humanity slowly learned to stand on its own.

And He Yu wanted to turn back and take the hand of the god who always stayed behind.

The world wished for Calamity to stay away.

She wanted him to stay.
