Wang Lei is a neighborhood police officer in Qinghe County, spending every day helping older women find their cats.
Then he discovers that everyone in the city has come from another time. The person selling pancakes is from the Northern Song, the bicycle repairman from the Great Ming, and even the captain of his squad has that unmistakable 1998 attitude.
He's the only one born and raised here, with an ID card that's completely real.
They all think he came from another time too, and keep testing him.
But he really didn't!
Now an organization called the Homecoming Society says the last person alive will be able to go home.
The problem is, he already lives here. Where is he supposed to go back to?
