Flames of the War Against Japan: The Xiao Family’s Bloody Underworld

In 1978, a State Council letter seeking assistance in locating anti-Japanese heroes Wang Zhihao and Ding Hongsan brings to light a long-buried past. In 1938, in Mianyang, the Xiao troupe makes a living performing, only to suffer under the Japanese army's oppression. Troupe leader Xiao Zongyi dies a gruesome death protecting his students. Wang Zhiyin, Zhang Zhiwu, and the others endure humiliation and hardship, vowing to make their enemies pay in blood with secret help from the Chen family of the Qinglong Gang. In a chaotic age of the jianghu, these heroes of the common folk compose a heartrending song of resistance against Japan.
