Zhou Yi is an ordinary young man who seems gentle and refined, but is bursting with sarcastic thoughts deep down. When his company goes under, he's forced to stay home and become a "full-time coder." One night, while jogging downstairs to lose weight, he accidentally hits the unofficial human speed limit of thirty kilometers per hour. The resulting misunderstanding brings him face-to-face with his nemesis, Lu Yao, the girl next door. A former provincial-team sprinter forced to retire due to injury, she's now a sharp-tongued sports commentator.
Lu Yao decides Zhou Yi is a "local expert keeping his talents under wraps" and comes over every day to learn from him. Zhou Yi, meanwhile, just wants to live quietly as a homebody. One never minces her words, while the other can't stop snarking to himself. From their "chance encounters and clashes" on morning runs, to being "forced teammates" in a street race, to becoming a "bickering couple" at a community marathon, they gradually enter each other's worlds. Meanwhile, Wang the Chubby, an old neighbor in their residential complex, sets his sights on Zhou Yi's athletic talent. Using a "favor for an old friend" as his excuse, he takes over nearby running tracks and opens a training center, hoping to exploit Zhou Yi's commercial value. He frames him for doping and spreads salacious rumors, throwing Zhou Yi's life into one chaotic mess after another.
But Zhou Yi's life is truly transformed by every run he "has no choice but to take." His right ear can detect the tiniest changes in the wind speed around him, while his mind automatically conjures the optimal running form and pace. He pushes past the limits of science. This isn't a System, but a wild instinct known as "Wind Intuition."
Running from the streets to the provincial team, then from the provincial team to national gold, Zhou Yi and Lu Yao support each other in sports and in life, turning all the noise that once grated on them into wind at their backs.
