Rule Horror: Pei Yama, Your Partner Broke the Rules Again

Three years after the bizarre phenomenon appeared, everyone followed the rules written in black and white. The red text was untouchable. Get even one rule wrong, and you'd vanish on the spot.

Jiang Wang didn't care about any of that.

He used to play a ghost in escape rooms for a living. After ten years at it, even ghosts called him "Teacher." On his first day in a dungeon, he gave candy to a ghost woman carrying a child and chatted with her about parenting. Then he dodged the fare and made the conductor so emo he chopped him up. When he got off, a whole train of ghosts chased after him, shouting, "Big Brother!"

Pei Yan, third on the all-time leaderboard, the Grim Reaper of Pei, had a hundred percent clear rate and never brought anyone along. No one who rode with him ever made it out alive. He kept his eyes on Jiang Wang, waiting for the lunatic to get himself killed so he could claim his gear.

Jiang Wang survived the first dungeon. He was still alive after the second.

At the entrance to the third dungeon, he leaned over and said, "Bro Pei, why do you keep staring at me? That look gives me the creeps. Anyone who didn't know better might think you liked me."

Pei Yan: "Get lost."

Later, the forum exploded. Wanted posters for Jiang Wang covered the entire site, with Pei Yan listed as the executor.

Everyone waited to see the Grim Reaper of Pei collect the body.

He didn't get a body. Pei Yan cut the wanted poster in half with one slash.

"Not even the rules can take my man away."
