At four o'clock in the morning, some people have just finished the night shift, some are still writing questions, some are stuck in hot searches, and some are sitting in the office building waiting for a layoff notice.
Twenty-seven-year-old Lin Yu is a content moderator. He is responsible for judging whether strangers need help every day, but no one knows that he himself has not felt happy for a long time.
Until one day, he received an unsigned letter.
The letter contained the names of five people and one sentence:
"If I don't come back, please confirm for me whether they are still living a good life."
A high school student with excellent grades but afraid of entering the examination room, a delivery rider who pretends to work in a big company, a healing blogger trapped in a perfect life, a working woman who cannot escape from a controlling lover - five people who were originally unrelated, came together because of a missing woman and a late-night bookstore.
They initially wanted to find her, but later they discovered that what no one really signed for was everyone's unspoken plea for help.
This is not a story about who saves whom.
