After I Was Dumped, My Childhood Friend, the Screen Queen, Begged Me Not to Leave!

[Dual female leads] [Childhood friends] [Entertainment industry] [Scientific genius x aloof award-winning actress] [Rekindled romance] [Bittersweet]

A word of warning: The protagonists aren't perfect. They each have their own flaws.

Lin Yan is the famous ice queen of the research institute.

She never takes advice, never turns back, and never gives up. When her father told her to come home and inherit the company, she went and became a mathematician instead.

Her colleagues all say that with Teacher Lin's personality, she'll probably spend her whole life in the lab.

No one knows that since the age of eight, there's been one person who could keep her completely in line.

Shen Shuangzhu is famous in the entertainment industry for her cool, aloof demeanor. She smiles warmly, yet keeps everyone at a distance. The whole internet calls her an untouchable beauty.

No one knows that when she was thirteen, she claimed a little girl as her own.

When that girl was twenty-one, she cornered Shen Shuangzhu and confessed her feelings.

Shen Shuangzhu was silent for a long time, then said, “Don't contact me again.”

Lin Yan did as she was told, flew across the Pacific, and hid away for five years.

Five years later, Lin Yan returned to China.

Shen Shuangzhu showed up everywhere: sitting beside her at a wedding, waiting for her at work, and asking for her by name on set.

Lin Yan kept her feelings in check.

Until the night Shen Shuangzhu had a stomachache. Lin Yan stayed up all night, keeping watch by her bed.

At dawn, Shen Shuangzhu, half asleep, called her “Yanyan” and said, “Don't go.”

Lin Yan answered, “I won't.”

The next morning, Shen Shuangzhu called her “Teacher Lin” again, as if the night before had been nothing but the medicine talking.

Later, Lin Yan's father came to see her and said only one thing: “The young lady of the Shen family has always known where to draw the line.”

Lin Yan suddenly understood:

Some things don't work out just because you try hard enough.

While the award-winning actress was filming, Lin Yan packed her things overnight and fled the country for a second time. But when she opened the door, Shen Shuangzhu, her eyes red from crying, grabbed her and said:

“Please. Don't leave me.”
