My Heir's Wife Is a Little Airheaded

Everyone in the capital knows that Chi Sui is a beautiful little airhead.

She is slow to react, slow to speak, and even slow to fall in love.

Qi Jilan is the heir to Prince Qi, a brilliant young man with a long record of military victories. When he was ten, he climbed over a wall and ran into her, and from that moment on, he knew she was the one he would strive for in this life.

But someone tampered with the letter he sent back. The one she received said: You are very silly. We are not suited for each other.

Chi Sui burned the letter and said, "Then I don't want to like Brother Lan anymore, either."

Half a year later, he returned victorious, and she peeked at him from behind a window. Later, he knelt before her in Zichen Hall and was stripped of his title as heir, then cast out with nothing.

The whole city laughed at him for throwing away his future for a fool.

He paid them no mind, spending every day at home cooking. Chi Sui came over to mooch a meal every few days, and after eating wontons, she would even sneak off with a plate of chestnut cakes.

One day, she asked, "Brother Lan, do you regret it?"

"Regret what?"

"Giving up being the heir."

Qi Jilan put down his spoon and looked at her solemnly. "Grandfather asked me whether I would choose you or my future. I told him: You are part of my future."

Later, he ascended the throne and made her empress. At the investiture ceremony, she walked more slowly than anyone else. He came down the steps and took her hand.

"Take your time," he said. "I will wait for you for the rest of my life."
