[Secret-History-Inspired Sequences + Occultism + Potions + Western Fantasy + Mildly Unsettling Western Folklore + Cult Horror + No Fixed Pairing + System + Multiple Races]
Sylvia, a Nanyang sorcerer, dies after a magical duel with a necromancer, only to transmigrate into the villainess of a Western fantasy game. From the start, she's about to be burned at the stake as a witch!
System: Reach Sequence 0 to return to your original world.
Sylvia: Not doing it. I'll slack off. Just let me die.
System: ...Your enemy is in the game too.
Sylvia (sitting up straight in a second): Great System, you know I've always been a fanatical believer in the Lord. I was born a witch!
And so, using chaos as her stepping stone, she carved a blasphemous path without precedent across a land woven from faith and ignorance.
Put on trial by the Church? She gives an improvised speech in court, turning fear into awe and disbelief into piety. Under her spell, the jury condemns her to exile in the wilderness, and she advances to Orator before taking revenge on her enemy.
Doubted by her family? She watches coldly as her "loving family" turns on one another in suspicion. In the end, they set the pyre beneath her alight with their own hands. She is reborn in the flames and advances to Witch.
The more recklessly she courts death, the stronger she becomes. Plague spreads in her footsteps, and death crowns her.
Her legend begins to spread across the continent:
"Don't speak her name on a full-moon night, and don't cross the wilderness alone. Wherever she goes, the wheat stands up and dances by itself."
Meanwhile, heretics in the shadows kneel in fervent worship:
"She is the devil's greatest messenger!"
She grants blessings, and she brings calamity.
Welcome to an age of bright hope and chaotic darkness.
The setting is good, but unfortunately the writing is not refreshing at all. The protagonist upgrades and eats, and there is no sense of surprise or expectation.
