The Legend of Southbridge

The nations are at war, smoke rises on every horizon, and all living beings in this chaotic age are pieces on a chessboard.

She was born the young heir of a noble military family, in an age tossed about by the flames of war. Witnessing her homeland shattered and its people driven from their homes, she refused to be confined to the inner quarters and their rouge, or bound by a woman's fate. The power of the court and the highest offices of state had always belonged to men.

But she was determined to defy the age.

With astonishing intelligence and exceptional strategies, she plotted her way through the chaos, breaking free of the shackles of her birth and society's prejudices. A commoner and a woman, she crossed mountains of corpses and bones and braved the treacherous court. She debated scholars, set national policy, sheltered refugees, reformed the court, and repelled foreign enemies.

In a chaotic age, there are no distinctions of rank. Wisdom decides the fate of the world.

In the end, she shattered a thousand years of social constraints. She took her place in the court like a man, became the chancellor of a nation, and seized power over the court and state. She guided a young ruler and quelled the chaos, supporting an entire kingdom with a woman's shoulders. Thus she became the most extraordinary and peerless female chancellor of the Warring States era.
