[Criminal Investigation Police] [Major Cases] [Criminal System] [Golden Triangle and Northern Myanmar] [Southeast Asia] [Ensemble Cast]
Nanyang lies along the coast, where mountains and rivers intertwine. Gray-market industries are deeply entrenched, and the underground order overrides everyday law. It is the most chaotic lawless zone in all of Southeast Asia!
Chen Yan, an ethnic Chinese grassroots police officer from a humble background, is stationed in Nanjiang Province, where public security is at its most complicated. There, he unexpectedly awakens a System: every time he captures a criminal with exceptional skills, he can copy the unique ability that made that criminal who they are.
Capture a habitual thief, and he learns the art of stealth and concealment.
Take down a nocturnal burglar, and he masters the skills to run along rooftops and scale walls.
Recruit all kinds of talented outcasts who move in the gray zones, and his repertoire grows ever more varied.
On the Nanyang border, where central authority is weak and chaos abounds, he breaks through with his arsenal of "underworld skills"!
From river smuggling networks and cross-border gray-market trade to new kinds of cross-border cybercrime, international human-trafficking disputes, and underground border profiteering rings.
Countless cold cases, backlogged cases, and old unsolved mysteries are unraveled one by one through methods beyond the ordinary.
On this land where black and white blur, Chen Yan uses decisive force to establish himself. Rising through the ranks from grassroots police officer, he climbs through the junior and senior officer ranks, takes charge of provincial public security, and reaches the pinnacle of Nanyang's police force!
But he doesn't intend to be just a brilliant detective.
