The day before her business marriage, Sheng Ning decisively walks into a café for a blind date with another man.

Huo Jingqi remains calm and detached. "I don't care who you are. I just need a wife in name only."

Before they register their marriage, Huo Jingqi repeatedly stresses that it will be a marriage of convenience. They won't interfere in or meet with each other, and they will divorce when the agreement expires.

After they register, Huo Jingqi has Sheng Ning move into his home, gives her money to spend, and sends her flowers.

Everyone in Beijing's elite circles knows that Huo Jingqi rebuilt the family business single-handedly. He is cold-hearted and ruthless, with a reputation for decisive, iron-fisted methods.

Everyone around him says he doesn't understand love and is destined to be a heartless money-making machine for the rest of his life.

But during an important meeting, Sheng Ning calls him. "Honey, someone rear-ended my car."

In front of everyone, Huo Jingqi jumps up from his seat in alarm. "Are you hurt? Don't be scared. I'm coming right now."

Later, their agreement expires.

Sheng Ning asks Huo Jingqi, "Honey, about that agreement..."

"Don't bring up that cursed thing!"
