At the Longevity Banquet, the Great Yuan's only adult prince, the current crown prince, openly defies an imperial decree.
For the sake of a pitiful peasant girl, he draws his sword and threatens to overthrow the court, vowing to divorce his virtuous crown princess, who comes from a family of generals.
"Father, without the woman I love by my side, I might as well give up this vast empire!"
"If you won't agree, then I won't be crown prince anymore!"
The ministers kneel and apply pressure, all convinced that the emperor has struggled to produce heirs and would never dare lay a finger on the crown prince.
But as Ying Che sits on the dragon throne, golden scrolling comments suddenly appear before his eyes.
[You're destined to be an emperor for the ages. Don't give in! This traitor knows he's your only heir!]
[That peasant girl is a spy from an enemy nation! In your previous life, you gave in, the crown princess's family lost heart and rebelled, Great Yuan fell, and you were literally angered to death!]
[Don't panic. The empress has just conceived an extraordinary royal heir. That's the true child of destiny for Great Yuan!]
Looking at the smug crown prince, Ying Che laughs furiously and smashes his wine cup to pieces.
"You want to divorce your wife? I'll grant your wish!"
"Issue my decree: strip Ying Qiyu of his position as crown prince, reduce him to a commoner, revoke his imperial surname, and throw him into the dungeons!"
"The crown princess is loyal and filial. I will adopt her as my daughter and grant her the title of Grand Princess Who Guards the Nation!"
The entire court is aghast. The rebellious prince is stunned.
Before long, Ying Che purges the court, his red-coated cannons pacify the four seas, and Great Yuan's iron cavalry sweeps across the eight directions!
The deposed crown prince, tortured until he can no longer bear it, kneels outside the palace gates and cries out, coughing blood: "Father, your son knows he was wrong! Please let me look upon Great Yuan one more time!"
