A fictional historical novel.
A reborn physician woman has returned, determined to kill the man who ruined her life in her previous life. She will spare none of the others who took part, either.
After her death, her spirit stayed by his side. She watched him follow his cousin, distinguish himself through meritorious deeds, and build a career. It infuriated her.
If I get another chance, I'll do it myself.
But she holds no grudge against this man's cousin. From the time the physician was imprisoned until her death, and later as a spirit, she followed the man who caused her death and witnessed many things. She knows his cousin is a truly loyal and righteous person.
When the land was thrown into chaos and the people were suffering, it was this cousin who fought to unite the contending powers, stood out among the many sons of noble families, and emerged victorious.
He did not merely fight for power. Along the way, he protected the people and never abandoned them. He persevered in building roads and dams, led physicians in curing a plague, and personally went to war to repel foreign invaders.
Though this cousin fought for power, he never bullied the weak.
He was rewriting history and making history.
He was a true man of power, and the physician woman wanted to become part of the history he created.
She also wanted everyone who had ruined his life in her previous one to face retribution.
She also wanted to stand beneath the open sky...
One person watches the world from the mountain, while another walks the world below.
