A Useless Spiritual Root? The Immortal Sects Fight Over Me When the Divine Beast Claims Me

Synopsis:

Qiao Sang is the most inconspicuous menial disciple of Tianheng Sect. Born with withered meridians, she has been judged incapable of ever cultivating. While cleaning out an abandoned storehouse, she accidentally pieces together a fragmentary temporary contract with an ancient divine beast, then secretly swaps out its sealed scale powder. Hoping to trade this secret for a chance to survive, she is drawn into the schemes of the storehouse steward, the medicine hall manager, a pawnshop apprentice, and the patrol captain. Yun Chuxiu, the inner sect's top disciple, notices the marks she altered and secretly trades clues with her, though each of them has secrets of their own. When the light of the divine beast acknowledging its master finally shoots into the sky, the sect elders who once mocked her as a good-for-nothing with a useless spiritual root scramble to seize the old wooden comb and half a page of ink marks in her possession. But Qiao Sang no longer needs their charity. The contract with the swapped signature in her arms had already recognized its true master in the ruins of the mine.
