Next Generation: Calamity Invades

[Ensemble Cast] [Growth] [No System] [Plot-Driven] [Slow Burn]

"Mo Ping, low-grade martial meridians, ten percent affinity."

At the testing device, the instructor read out his score, then flipped to the next page without even looking up. Of ten portions of rift energy, nine slipped through his fingers.

A good-for-nothing like him wasn't even wanted to mine inside a rift.

That was until a rift erupted at school and a thunder spider tore through the sports field. A beam of light pierced his chest, and a blade moved into his martial meridians.

Its name was Judgment. Born of the same source as calamity, it had chosen to protect humanity.

It could temper his martial meridians, grinding a good-for-nothing into a genius; condense a blade phantom to slay a Catalyst-class butcher with one strike;

and take control of his body in a desperate situation, crushing powerful foes.

The price was that every use brought his martial meridians closer to collapse, deepened the corruption, and brought him one step closer to "losing control."

Everyone laughed that he had risen to prominence on his grandfather's coattails.

No one knew that a calamity lived inside him.

"I will become a pillar."

With this blade, and with all the truths behind it.
