Reborn in 2006: This Director Is Such a Troublemaker

In his previous life, Jiang Xuye was famous in the entertainment industry as a "script emergency doctor."

He rewrote scripts for celebrated directors, helped movie stars win awards, and rescued flopping projects for investors.

The directors became famous, the actors became legends, and the investors made fortunes.

Only he, the screenwriter, was still renting an apartment at thirty-eight.

Then he woke up.

Jiang Xuye had returned to 2006, just before graduating from college.

When a film company offered him a screenwriting contract, he said just one thing.

"A screenwriter?"

"Not even a dog would do it!"

This time, he'd be a director himself.

No investors? He'd talk someone into it.

No stars? He'd make them himself.

Nobody believes in him? Even better. That'll keep costs down.

And so, a film made so cheaply that even his industry peers were embarrassed to mock it swept the box office.

An actor rejected by every company became a movie star under his guidance.

An unknown nobody rose to become a top-tier star thanks to him.

Movies, TV dramas, variety shows, music, video websites...

By the time the whole entertainment industry came to its senses, Jiang Xuye was already sitting at the top of the table of capital.

Reporter: "Director Jiang, some people say your movies are tacky, that all you care about is making money and you have no artistic ambition."

Jiang Xuye nodded. "They're right."

The reporter was dumbfounded. "You're not going to explain?"

Jiang Xuye countered, "The audience pays and enjoys themselves, the investors make money, and I make money too."

"So who's losing out?"

Later, a saying spread through the entertainment industry: You can question Jiang Xuye's character.

But never question his eye for making money.
