Reborn at fifty-two, Liu Cuilan sees her eldest son snatch her bankbook and her second son steal her food rations. She flips the banquet table and slaps a severance letter down in front of the factory director: "I don't want this leech of a son anymore!" She throws the ungrateful brats out with nothing, then she and her husband shut the door and feast on braised pork every day. Her wayward sons think their mother can't survive without them. Little do they know that Liu Cuilan uses her information advantage to snap up rare, out-of-print Monkey stamps and make a fortune of eight thousand yuan. Her clothing shop rakes in money from day one, and just as she buys a run-down tiled-roof house, the special economic zone launches a massive demolition project! The rebellious sons fight over a spoonful of lard in a shabby hut, then end up homeless like stray dogs. Watching their mother become a celebrated business tycoon, they kneel and bang their heads on the ground. Liu Cuilan sneers: "I'll never forgive you!"
