In the Rules of Horror, Every Ghost Begs Me Not to Enforce Them

Lin Suihan, captain of the criminal investigation team and a staunch materialist.

When the lights in the interrogation room flicker, he's dragged into a challenge world made up of urban-legend rules.

While everyone else starts in easy mode, killing weak monsters, he starts from the start with the hell-level instance: the last bus on Route 44.

Other people's NPCs offer friendly guidance. The NPCs he encounters want to kill him on sight.

And it gets even more ridiculous: the challenge rest area has a shady inn called the Demon Hour Inn. Its talismans cost a fortune, its cook makes food scarier than ghosts, its servers carry axes while serving tea, and the front desk makes you take a psychological test before letting you check in.

The cold-faced owner, with long hair falling past his shoulders and a mask over his face, seems to know him.

"...Have we met?"

The person behind the mask falls silent for a moment. "You've got the wrong person, sir. Want a room? One hundred thousand points a night."
