Dream of the Red Chamber: Daiyu Has a Princess for an Older Sister

[Face-slapping the Rongguo Mansion] [Two female leads’ coming-of-age arcs] [The female leads are Daiyu and Gu Zhaoyang, and they get about the same amount of screen time. The male lead has very little screen time at first, and the pairing appears pretty late, since they’re still children.] [The day Lin Daiyu arrives in the capital, the Rongguo Mansion makes her enter through a side gate. But when she visits the Princess’s residence, the Commandery Princess is already waiting at the hanging-flower gate to welcome her in person.] Everyone says the Duke’s mansion is her maternal family’s home. But all she sees are cold stares, an ill-mannered male cousin, and an aunt who schemes at every turn. That is, until the Princess’s residence sends someone to fetch her. Princess Mingjia takes her hand and says, “Your mother was my dearest friend.” Commandery Princess Zhaoyang links arms with her. “Little Sister Lin, I’ve been waiting for you for so long.” From that moment on, the people of the Rongguo Mansion discover that the “sickly orphan” has suddenly become someone they cannot afford to offend. Punish Xiren and strike back at Baochai in this fresh new take on Dream of the Red Chamber.
