Yi Shaoche, the leader of the Beggars' Gang, wants to retire every single day. As the first Industrial Revolution in Huixing comes to an end and the Empress reveals her intention to choose an heir, turbulent times begin. To further his lifelong goal of slacking off, Yi Shaoche tries to turn Tantai Zheng into his underling.
His enemy sides with the eldest princess, while the third princess happens to be looking to recruit him.
So Yi Shaoche, who has smoothly gone from being a boss to being an employee, prepares for a whirlwind of work. The preparation turns out to be unnecessary. His perfect underling volunteers to take on most of the work. Yi Shaoche is deeply moved and decides to reward him.
But then... what do you mean you did it of your own accord and don't need a reward? What do you mean, "Boss, you smell so good"? What do you mean, you want a reward that would put you above your station?
Tantai Zheng before meeting Yi Shaoche: I will never believe a stranger's lies. You're definitely trying to hurt me!
After meeting Yi Shaoche: Are you my future boss? (´◊ω◊`)
Reader's guide: The entire main cast gets a happy ending, the third princess successfully takes the throne, and both leads rise through the ranks.
