In the final years of the Nan Zhao dynasty, the court had fallen into disarray, and turmoil stirred beneath the surface.
The young Cheng Yi carried the Dust-Forgetting Art and descended the mountain to gain experience. A short jujube-wood sword lay hidden in a coarse-cloth scabbard. He looked like a poor scholar from a humble family, but his martial arts were unfathomable.
Passing through Qingxi Town, a remote little town in this chaotic age, he witnessed local thugs throwing their weight around, colluding with corrupt officials and bandits to oppress the common people.
In the time it took to eat a bowl of noodles, he beat back the bandits with his bare hands and stood up for the weak.
To eliminate Zhou Mang, the local tyrant, he ventured alone into the Hongyun Gambling House, saw through every cheating trick by listening to the sounds and reading the situation, and toyed with the ruthless criminals. Then, entering the mountains by night, he stumbled upon the shocking secret of Black Wind Stronghold's hidden army and was drawn into a vast conspiracy surrounding the princes' struggle for the throne.
The flames of war suddenly rose at Luoyan Ridge, where ambushes and assassinations lurked at every turn.
Clad in plain clothes and armed with a sword, he would not bow to power.
No matter how treacherous the martial world or how turbulent the court, Cheng Yi would use the sword in his hand to protect the people and cut down the wicked throughout the land!
