Survival at the End of the Road: From the Start, I Have a Beat-Up Truck

My name is Li Xiao. I'm a mechanic, and my shop just went under. The apocalypse came in the afternoon. A hole split open in the sky, and monsters fell through. I hid beneath a beat-up cargo truck, watching helplessly as a red-hot crystal punched through the hood and embedded itself in the engine. Then a voice rang in my head: [Binding... failed?] Failed? Then explain why the rust on this truck is growing back. Why does feeding it a scrapped car make it spit out a pile of points? Why can I sit around smoking without a scratch while people who enter the radiation zones melt into sludge? No one has an explanation. Fine. I'll figure it out myself. This truck eats cars, and every car it eats makes it tougher. I've spent ten years fixing cars. One glance is all it takes to tell which ones are light on armor and full of useful parts. While everyone else fights over food in the apocalypse, I stroll around junkyards like I own the place. On the thirtieth day of the apocalypse, someone put a bounty on my truck, dead or alive. I posted a set of coordinates on the channel. I've got plenty of wrenches. I'm just afraid you won't show up.
