The Wealth God of the Mysterious Altar

At twenty-eight, Zhao Gongliang was laid off, dumped, and kicked out of his home, all in a single night. Standing beneath an overpass on a rainy night in Linjiang, he had just one yuan left in his pocket.

Then he watched an old man’s 120,000 yuan in retirement savings get swindled and robbed by a crooked agent, with no way to seek justice.

At that moment, the dormant will of the Martial God of Wealth awakened with a roar.

This isn’t about cheating money into existence or getting rich without a thought. He can see where every sum of money came from and the consequences it carries: the murky aura of crooked agents, the blood debts of construction bosses, the illicit cross-border flows of financial platforms. Nothing can escape his sight.

He goes undercover among ordinary people, posing as one of them. He befriends the wicked and seals the evidence into an airtight case. Then he turns on them, cuts off their fortunes, tracks down their ill-gotten gains, and returns every last cent of their victims’ hard-earned money to those who deserve it.

He finds justice amid the bustle of everyday life, and distinguishes right from wrong in the smallest of matters.

He doesn’t want you afraid. He wants you broke. Broke without a penny to hide, broke with no doubt about why.

Someone has to settle the accounts of this world.
