[Rules Horror] [Murder Mystery Roleplay] [Urban Supernatural Powers] [Fair-Play Mystery] [Clever Protagonist] [Career-Focused] [Chinese-Style Horror]
Late at night, the last bus pulls into the station.
A notice is posted inside the carriage: Don't talk. Don't look out the window. If someone behind you calls your name, never answer.
Someone can't help themself and replies.
The lights at the back of the bus then go out one by one. No one sees how that thing gets there. When the lights come back on, all that's left on the seat is a pool of blood flowing into the aisle and half a crumpled ticket. The person who was begging for mercy just moments ago is gone.
This isn't a game scenario. It's a "spirit script," a murder scenario written with living souls and smuggled into murder mystery game shops. Put on the headset, and you're at the real crime scene. Anyone who can't find the true ending is trapped forever, and even their name is erased from reality. Every scenario has its own unreasonable rules.
Lu Xun, owner of a murder mystery game shop and the best game master in the city, awakens the rarest profession: "Reader." While everyone else sees only blank paper on their character sheets, he can see the hidden rules on the reverse side. Which seat the ghost is hiding in, which clue conceals the real culprit: one glance tells him everything.
After being approached by an official agency dedicated to handling spirit scripts, he joins their scenario team, specializing in sealing away murderous scripts that devour people. While others enter a scenario on their knees, begging to survive, he treats it like going to work.
But gradually, he discovers that someone is using living people as ink, writing these scenarios one word at a time.
In scripts where others write his death, he insists on being the one who changes the ending.
Overall, it's pretty good. The plot design is quite interesting. The first volume is a bit short but quite impactful.
