Lin Fan had barely stepped out of the Taoist temple when the System came knocking.
[Ding! The Taoist Temple Development System is now bound!]
[Main Quest: Raise five million to renovate the temple!]
Lin Fan: ??? This run-down temple wouldn't fetch even fifty thousand if I sold it!
The incense offerings are sparse, the halls leak wind, and dust covers the statues. Evil spirits and fiends even emerge from the foot of the mountain now and then to wreak havoc among the living.
Fortunately, the System gives him the Five Arts of Taoism from the start, along with cultivation at the threshold of Qi Refining. He excels at reading qi, drawing talismans, performing ritual steps, and suppressing evil.
One after another, worshippers come up the mountain seeking help: they have been haunted or cursed, their homes are in disarray, or vengeful spirits cling to them...
The misfortunes everyone else avoids are all things Lin Fan can take care of for you.
He catches ghosts and suppresses evil, wards off disasters and misfortune, reads feng shui, and performs Taoist rites.
As he guides departed souls to rest, he rapidly levels up the Taoist temple.
"Just five million? Once the incense is burning bright and the temple is renovated, I'll turn this run-down place into the greatest Taoist temple under heaven!"
