Ji Changming won't live past twelve.
A blind old man found him, raised him, and brewed medicine for him for twelve years. In the end, he gave his own life to leave a red thread across the boy's chest.
As soon as the thread was tied, Li Jing, a divine weapon that had slumbered for twelve years, suddenly awakened, broke out of its forbidden grounds, and flew into his chest.
A dying boy who doesn't even know how to cultivate becomes the inheritor of humanity's divine weapon.
In humanity's grand hall, the three elders argue fiercely. One wants him to use a life-burning technique to kill the demon race and buy humanity ten years of respite. Another says that, as a member of the human race, he ought to sacrifice himself.
Shangguan Yu says only one thing: “When that child wakes up, ask him.”
But no one knows that his father is Li Changqing, the Sword Master of the human race. His mother is a demon woman who personally killed Li Changqing.
Li Jing has chosen him.
The demon race is looking for him.
Humanity is waiting for him.
He has only one life, and even that is borrowed.
