In 2021, top wilderness survival expert Lin Yi opened his eyes to find himself in the 1980s, in the Ten-Thousand Mountains, inhabiting the body of a namesake layabout who loved his liquor, was drowning in debt, and was despised by everyone. Outside the door lay Su Wan, a young educated woman abandoned by a heartless man, pregnant and near death. Starting by paying off the old debts of this body, he spent more than twenty years raising a family, developing mountain produce, retiring the guns and ending the hunting, and building patrols. In the end, he gave his two children the chance to leave the mountains, and ensured that the rules for protecting them no longer depended on his life alone.
