Marry a CEO for a Wife

On a rainy night, while delivering his last order, Chen Caichen picks up a beautiful woman in high heels who reeks of alcohol. The first thing she says when she wakes is, “Get a marriage certificate tonight. It’s void tomorrow morning.”

He believes her.

The next day, the trending searches explode: #ZhengGroupCEOSecretlyMarriesDeliveryGuy# and #GoldDiggerLivingOffHisWife#. The company executives are all waiting to laugh at him, and Zheng Xiaoqian is waiting for him to get the hint and leave.

But Chen Caichen doesn’t leave.

He saves the company from delisting by changing a slogan, dismantles a rival’s bet agreement with a theory from a barbecue stall, and turns a board meeting into a hotline for viewers of Legal Report. The executives go from laughing to silence, then from silence to fear. This delivery guy seems to know everything.

The more Zheng Xiaoqian watches him, the more suspicious she gets. “Chen Caichen, who said you could make our fake marriage real?”

Chen Caichen calmly pulls out his phone and plays a recording. “Ms. Zheng, I kept everything you said back then, including ‘It’s void tomorrow morning.’ You also said that if you ever went back on your word, I should play this for the whole company.”

Zheng Xiaoqian turns green. She was blackout drunk and doesn’t remember saying any of that.

Three years later, Zheng Xiaoqian slams down divorce papers. “Chen Caichen, it’s time for you to leave.”

Chen Caichen leisurely wipes down his electric scooter seat. “Ms. Zheng, you said ‘It’s void tomorrow morning’ back then, but that tomorrow morning was three years ago. I was wondering, shouldn’t this marriage contract renew automatically?”

For the first time, Zheng Xiaoqian wonders if she might have picked up someone she shouldn’t have.
