The White Rabbit and the Tough Guys

[Well-Read Literary Girl vs. Ruthless Street-Wolf King]

[Gangsters + 1990s Road Adventure + Everyone's Darling + Female Growth + Exotic Flavor]

Evelyn has endured more than a decade of psychological torture at the hands of her family. She thought she'd finally escaped.

But even in death, her father wants to drag her down with him. Creditors from two continents gather at the funeral: the Sicilian Mafia blocks the entrance, while the Medellin Cartel from South America takes over the church.

Everyone thinks she's as good as dead.

Evelyn turns and runs, climbing out through a transom window.

In this game of cat and mouse, the ruthless leader corners her. "You've got some skill. Run until you die, or come with me. Pick the one you won't regret."

So she stops running. This time, she'll leap into the whirlpool of the underworld, fight her way back from the brink in a chaotic world, and seize fate by the horns.
