Meng Jingxian: Banish the Love-Brain, Bring Me the Power

She transmigrates into Meng Jingxian, the most unfairly doomed character in Empresses in the Palace.

In her original life, she was desperately in love with Prince Guo. She risked her life to give birth to a son, then was poisoned at a palace banquet and died after forcing the child into the world.

Huanbi took the child, and her family was dragged down with her.

After transmigrating, Meng Jingxian feels the one-month-old fetus in her belly and immediately puts an end to her romantic delusions.

Gentleness is an act, weakness is a performance; careful planning is the real thing.

She wins people over, takes charge of the household, keeps Huanbi thoroughly under her thumb, and gathers enough evidence to use imperial authority to quietly get rid of Prince Guo, the deadweight holding her back.

Her legitimate son is born, and power is in her hands.

Poison at a palace banquet? She won’t drink. Choosing sides in the harem? She’ll stay out of it.

While Zhen Huan and the empress fight to the death, she counts money and raises her child in the prince’s residence, secure as its mistress and living as the only true winner in the whole story.

What use is love and infatuation when having power in her hands and keeping mother and child safe is so much more practical?
